The integration project my team has been working on for the past several months finally came to a successful conclusion today as we saw data start flowing between the two systems in a most magical fashion. I like to imagine that this is the same feeling the chaps tunneling between England and France felt when they broke through and saw the smiling faces of their counterparts on the other side. Well, maybe that inflates the importance of my project, but only very slightly.
I hesitate to call it a conclusion, for as any developer worth his salt will tell you, releasing your software to the world just means you’ll be doing a different kind of work from there on out. I can say that this first phase of hooking up the pipes is complete, and that, my friends, is a good thing. Kudos to both teams!

How many times have I attempted to blog with something resembling continuity? Ummm…at least once. Unsuccessfully. So here I am again, with a clean slate and good intentions. My goal this time? Just put something down. Anything. Banish the blank page (I mean post) with something. A quote. A picture. Mindless drivel.
I figure, eventually, I’ll pry something worthwhile out of this mass of meat between my ears.
